Technician Classes Set to Begin SWIPA Pharmacy Technician Classes will begin Thursday, January 25th at 7 PM in Meeting Room 3 of St. Mary's Medical Center. The classes will run each Thursday night thru March 8, 2007. The classes are open to all SWIPA members and the cost is $100. The price includes SWIPA 2007 membership, the class, and books. A minimum of 12 students must be enrolled for the classes to be held. The classes satisfy Indiana State Board of Pharmacy technician training requirements and can serve as a prep course for the National Technician Certification Exam. Anyone interested should contact David Miller ASAP at Wal-Mart West at (812) 426-1679, at home at (812) 985-2042, or by e-mail at dmmille@prodigy.net. Upcoming Meetings Meetings of the SWIPA Board: The SWIPA Board of Directors will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7am at JoJo’s Restaurant on US 41 North. Meetings are scheduled for January 9th and February 13th. Board members should contact SWIPA President Derek Green at Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Boonville at 897-0089 if they cannot attend. Membership Renewal SWIPA’s annual membership renewal period has begun. Dues for 2007 will again be just $25.00. A renewal application is printed on page 2 of the SWIPA News this month and additional applications can be printed from the SWIPA website at by clicking here. Your dues help support SWIPA by covering postage for newsletters, website hosting fees, our two annual scholarships to pharmacy students at Butler and Purdue, costs for the SWIPA Pharmacy Directory, and miscellaneous costs in arranging meetings and obtaining and granting C.E. Your continued support is vital to the future of SWIPA. Please, renew today! Please pass information about SWIPA to your colleagues—it’s a great bargain. For $25.00 you get access to educational meetings, (very often) fine dining, and a chance to meet the people we talk to so often on the phone at work. The opportunities for fellowship and “sharing war stories” are some of the greatest benefits of membership. Bring your coworkers so they can see what SWIPA has to offer. |
